Frequently asked questions
Feather-touch brow tattoo is a popular semi-permanent make-up brow technique using a hand tool with a cluster of fine probes. They are used to implant pigment into the skin to create life-like hair strokes and natural-looking eyebrows. We draw each hair stroke following your natural hair growth and direction.
Nano Brows, unlike micro-blading, are hair strokes completed by a needled machine, similar to a conventional tattoo. Nano Brows can last longer and are less invasive on the skin in comparison to Microblading.
It is not the same as body tattooing. The main difference between a traditional body tattoo and a cosmetic tattoo is the type of equipment used and the depth of the pigment implanted. Also, unlike body tattooing, you do not bleed during the procedure.
Prior to treatment, we spend roughly 20 minutes on the design of your tailored brows to give you the most natural and appropriate shape and colour to suit your specific facial features, natural brow line, skin tone, and hair colour. Then, together we discuss final shaping and colour selection for approval.
On a scale of 1-10, most clients report the discomfort of a 3.
Initial appointment: 3hrs, including the consultation and numbing time (It might take longer in some cases).
Perfecting touch up within 4-6 weeks: 1-2hrs
This varies from person to person, depends on your skin type, diet, sun exposure, genetics and environmental factors, which can all contribute to how long your skin will retain the pigments.
As a guide, it could be anything between one to several years before a new treatment is required, although refresher colour boosts are recommended for maintenance during this time.
All new tattoo appointments will require a $100 deposit that will come off the total price on the day. Deposits will not be refunded for cancellations with less than 72 hours notice.
For more information regarding cancellations and rescheduling, please refer to our
TERMS & CONDITIONS.
We recommend that you book your Botox appointment at least 4-6 weeks before your initial brow tattooing appointment. This aids with symmetry and skin firmness.
- Leave waxing/tinting 72 hours leading up to your appointment.
- Discontinue active skincare 1-2 weeks before treatment (e.g. Vitamin A, chemical peels, prescribed skincare etc.)
- Inform us before your treatment of any medical conditions or severe allergies that may interfere with treatment.
- Do not take aspirin, niacin, vitamin E or Ibuprofen 48-72 hours prior to the procedure (do not cease regular medications without consulting your GP).
- No alcohol 24 hours before your procedure.
- You are required to supply your numbing cream; legally, this can not be supplied to you.
Immediately after treatment, the colour will appear darker than your chosen shade.
After 7-10 days, natural exfoliation takes place. The top layer of the skin peels off, leaving a softer, lighter colour below.
As the treated area is settling down, itching may occur, which means the skin is healing.
Apply the recommended cream to the treated area as recommended.
Swelling and redness is minimal and usually subsides within 24 hours.
The skin takes 4-8 weeks to heal at a cellular level and for the true pigment colour to settle.
Two treatments are usually needed, at least 6-8 weeks apart. Individual results do vary.
There is a minimal risk of infection, providing that you maintain strict hygiene standards.
Allergic reactions are extremely rare; however, please inform us if you have any allergies, and a patch test can be performed upon request.
Not for at least 48 hours. Keep them dry and sweat-free to ensure maximum retention.

The Plasma Pen is a device that performs Fibroblasting therapy, resulting in micro-trauma on the skin’s top layer while treating deeper layers of the skin. The outcome is a significant tightening and resurfacing of the skin for a lifted, more youthful appearance.
Recovery time varies slightly. However, it typically takes 7-10 days for the dots to fall off and the new skin to come through.
We will always conduct a thorough consultation before deciding on the best treatment plan for you.
To prepare for your Plasma Pen treatment, stop use of Vitamin A, peels, and any harsh skin treatment at least two weeks before your appointment. We cannot perform the Plasma Pen treatment on sunburnt or damaged skin.
We recommend you bring your own numbing cream to reduce any discomfort throughout the treatment.
Please note that we cannot legally provide numbing cream to you and many over-the-counter creams are not effective. Please contact us to discuss recommended creams.
Plasma Pen aftercare is critical to achieving the best results while avoiding scarring. You will be given specific aftercare guidelines during your appointment and it is critical that you follow them to ensure optimal results. If you have had the treatment and require clarity on the aftercare guidelines, please contact us at The Arch Edit immediately.

Brow lamination is a 3 step process similar to lash lift or perming and straightening solutions for your hair. Rather than using perming and setting solutions to create a lifted curl, the solution is applied to set your brow hairs upwards into a full, fluffy shape giving the illusion of fuller, thicker lifted brows. We do not apply any extra hair. It’s the eyebrow repositioning and shape correction that gives a fuller appearance.
The appointment takes a minimum of one hour, and all include wax, tweezing and tint.
No, your brows can be brushed back down, but brushing them down too often can reduce the lift of the brow lamination.
Before your brow lamination appointment, we recommend the following:
- Avoid using exfoliants, retinoids, or AHAs on your face for one to two weeks before your brow lamination
- Please come to your appointment without any makeup on
IMPORTANT NOTE: Lamination is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women or those with sensitive skin. There is the possibility of the product being absorbed into the skin, resulting in irritation.
A brow lamination will last about 6 – 8weeks. Return appointments are recommended after six weeks. For best results, be sure to follow the aftercare instructions given to you at your appointment.
